Dear Friend: Thank you for responding to my e-mail solicitation. Before we go any further, let me tell you straight out, this site is not affiliated with Marcus Buckingham (or his companies), the Gallup Corporation (or its affiliates), or any other for profit company. I obtained your e-mail address through the e-mail sent to me and you by Maureen Dobbins of marcusbuckingham.com. Therefore, I presume you are now reading Go, Put Your Strengths to Work, have taken the StrengthsFinder, and are interested in developing your strengths and those of the people you work with. I am selling nothing and I am not in competition with either Marcus Buckingham or the Gallup Organization. I support the efforts of both these organizations in ushering in a new era of personal and business success through the development of strengths. I am, like you, a strengths enthusiast (if there is such a thing), a person who has taken the Clifton Strengths Finder and finally had names for the talents I have been given and the strengths I have developed in my lifetime. I first encountered strengths in 1992 when I read Soar With Your Strengths, by Donald O. Clifton and Paula Nelson. I began working on my own at that time and training others how to discover, develop, and market their strengths through business seminars, community college adult education courses, and in church programs long before I took the StrengthsFinder. Since then, in possession of the strengths descriptors, I have both focused and expanded my programs within my local community. I recently participated in a two day course on strengths development and community building at Gallup University in Omaha, Nebraska. As a small business owner (If you would like to learn more about me, please visit my other site here ) in a small community I would like to connect with others of similar interests with complementary strengths to discuss our strengths, share our successes, and grow.
